Help shape the future of our clients' businesses with innovative Climate and Sustainability strategies.

As a Career Starter in our Sustainability team, you will play a crucial role in helping our clients tackle some of today's key challenges. By leveraging your knowledge and experience in various sustainability topics, including climate change, circular economy, and decarbonization, you'll support strategy development, set targets, evaluate climate risks and opportunities, measure and report on progress, and assist in go-to-market initiatives to grow Deloitte's sustainability proposition.

You Will Make an Impact By

  • Supporting clients in their decarbonization journey by reducing business and climate-related risks across their value chains.
  • Guiding clients through quantitative and technical solutions such as climate scenario analyses for TCFD, Swiss Climate Ordinance, CSRD, and EU Taxonomy, enabling them to assess financial impacts, formulate net zero transition plans, and integrate sustainability into overall business strategies.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to build quantitative climate risk and decarbonization modeling capabilities while expanding our offerings in nature and biodiversity.
  • Conducting technical research on a diverse range of environmental and sustainability topics, including climate risks, adaptation and mitigation strategies, responsible investing, and resource-use efficiency.
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders, including clients and senior management, to clearly convey technical concepts and translate complex models into actionable business decisions.

Who We Are Looking For

  • You hold a master's (or PhD) in climate or atmospheric sciences, environmental sciences, natural hazard modeling, ecology, energy management, engineering, economic modeling, or a related field.
  • You possess programming and data visualization skills (e.g., Python, R, Power BI) and are familiar with climate scenario analysis, risk analysis, decarbonization modeling, GHG accounting, or financial modeling.
  • You have a keen interest in sustainable development, particularly in climate and nature risks, decarbonization, or GHG accounting, along with a passion for driving business sustainability performance.
  • You are knowledgeable in key sustainability regulations (e.g., Swiss Climate Ordinance, TCFD, CSRD, EU Taxonomy) and can provide support with technical and scientific aspects of disclosure requirements.
  • You have the ability to communicate complex topics clearly and are fluent in English. Fluency in either German (for the Zurich office) or French (for the Geneva office) would be an advantage.
