Help shape the future of our clients' businesses with innovative Climate and Sustainability strategies.

As a Career Starter in our Sustainability team, your role will be instrumental in supporting our clients in tackling some of today’s key challenges by leveraging your knowledge and experience in various sustainability topics such as climate change, circular economy, and decarbonization. You will contribute to strategy development, target setting, climate risk assessment, measuring progress, and supporting go-to-market initiatives to grow Deloitte’s sustainability proposition.

Your Impact

  • Support clients in their decarbonization journey by reducing business and climate-related risks across their value chains.
  • Guide clients through quantitative and technical solutions such as climate scenario analyses for TCFD, Swiss Climate Ordinance, CSRD, and EU Taxonomy, enabling them to assess financial impacts, formulate net zero transition plans, and integrate sustainability into overall business strategies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to build quantitative climate risk and decarbonization modeling capabilities, while expanding offerings in nature and biodiversity.
  • Conduct technical research on a variety of environmental and sustainability topics, including climate risks, adaptation and mitigation, responsible investing, environmental remediation, sustainable construction, and resource-use efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including clients, team members, and senior management, to convey technical concepts and translate complex models into actionable business decisions.

Who We Are Looking For

  • You hold a master’s (or PhD) in climate or atmospheric sciences, environmental sciences, natural hazard modeling, ecology, energy management, engineering, economic modeling, or a related field.
  • You possess programming and data visualization skills (e.g., Python, R, Power BI) and have experience with climate scenario analysis, risk analysis, decarbonization modeling, GHG accounting, or financial modeling.
  • You have a keen interest in sustainable development—especially in climate and nature risks, decarbonization, or GHG accounting—and a passion for enhancing business sustainability performance.
  • You are familiar with key sustainability regulations (e.g., Swiss Climate Ordinance, TCFD, CSRD, EU Taxonomy) and can support the technical and scientific aspects of disclosure requirements.
  • You have the ability to communicate complex topics clearly and are fluent in English; fluency in German (for the Zurich office) or French (for the Geneva office) is an advantage.
