Position Overview
In your role as a Computer Vision R&D Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of computer vision components. Your tasks will include:
- Contributing to requirements engineering to define functional and technical specifications
- Designing, setting up, and validating a robotic system for 3D reconstruction of anatomy in open orthopedic surgery
- Development and optimization of computer vision methods for fully automated 3D reconstruction of anatomical structures, considering computation time constraints
- Development and optimization of computer vision methods for 6-DoF pose estimation of surgical instruments and surgeons' hands
- Designing and refining methods for multi-modal registration of anatomical data (CT and optical imaging)
- Supporting the integration of developed components into the industry partner's surgical training application
Candidate Profile
- Master's degree in computer science, robotics, or a related field
- Excellent programming skills
- Strong background in algorithm development
- Experience in computer vision, particularly in 3D reconstruction, camera calibration, and 3D pose estimation
- Independent, structured working style, and a passion for interdisciplinary collaboration
- Willingness to travel occasionally to project partners or testing facilities
