Position: Computer Vision R&D Engineer

Responsibilities

In your role as a Computer Vision R&D Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of computer vision components. Your tasks will include:

  • Contributing to requirements engineering to define functional and technical specifications
  • Designing, setting up, and validating a robotic system for 3D reconstruction of anatomy in open orthopedic surgery
  • Developing and optimizing computer vision methods for fully automated 3D reconstruction of anatomical structures, considering computation time constraints
  • Developing and optimizing computer vision techniques for 6-DoF pose estimation of surgical instruments and surgeons' hands
  • Designing and refining methods for multi-modal registration of anatomical data (CT and optical imaging)
  • Supporting the integration of developed components into the industry partner's surgical training application

Profile

  • Master's degree in computer science, robotics, or a related field
  • Excellent programming skills
  • Strong background in algorithm development
  • Experience in computer vision, particularly in 3D reconstruction, camera calibration, and 3D pose estimation
  • Independent, structured working style and a passion for interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to project partners or testing facilities
