Open Call for Computational Scientists, Mathematical Modelers
The Foundation for Research on Information Technologies in Society (IT’IS) is an independent, nonprofit research organization closely associated with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich. We are continually looking for talented and experienced individuals to join our team. We invite you to apply online using the form below.
IT’IS collaborates with partner organizations Schmid & Partner Engineering AG (SPEAG), ZMT Zurich MedTech AG (ZMT), and TI Solutions AG (TI Solutions) as part of the Zurich43 alliance. Our dedicated mission is to expand knowledge and technology in three key areas: (i) characterization, optimization, and application of electromagnetic (EM) near-fields, (ii) predictive modeling of interactions between physical agents and physiology in complex anatomies, and (iii) medical applications.
Your Challenges
- Development of novel algorithms and solutions for next-generation applications in computational physics.
- Maintenance and enhancement of our high-performance simulation platforms, including CAD modeling, numerical solvers in the fields of electrodynamics, neuronal dynamics, and more, as well as data postprocessing and visualization.
- Involvement in all stages of product development, from feature design to production-level implementation.
Your Strengths
- University or technical college degree (Bachelor, Master, or PhD) in Information Technology, Computer Sciences, or equivalent knowledge.
- Outstanding proficiency in C++ (STL, object-oriented design patterns, multi-threading) and experience writing production-quality C++ code.
- Excellent knowledge of algorithms and numerics.
- Strong expertise in high-performance computing programming models, particularly for GPGPUs (CUDA, OpenCL); optionally, experience with OpenMP, MPI, cross-platform applications, or user interface development.
- Experience in electrodynamic simulations, particularly with med-tech industry applications, is a strong plus.
- Passion for designing high-quality, user-friendly, and reliable software.
