Role Overview
The Communications Manager (Operational Excellence) serves as a strategic business partner to our core industrial functions, including Cement Manufacturing, Logistics, Geocycle, and Holcim MAQER. Your mission is to accelerate our "NextGen" growth by enhancing Holcim’s reputation as the industry leader in sustainability. By collaborating closely with Corporate Communications, you will provide expert advice to senior leaders on reputation building, craft compelling narratives for global audiences, and foster strategic alignment across various geographies. This role is pivotal in driving cultural transformation and ensuring that our industry-leading sustainability roadmap gains international recognition.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic communications partner to the Operational Excellence leadership team, ensuring all messaging aligns with the Holcim brand and global strategy.
- Develop and implement comprehensive multi-channel communication plans that source stories across the function to enhance visibility on internal and global external platforms.
- Craft impactful thought leadership content, including speeches and presentations for senior leaders at global industry forums and investor-facing events.
- Lead change and transformation communications for major operational initiatives, ensuring cultural alignment and successful adoption throughout the organization.
- Govern the digital and social media strategy for specialized business areas (e.g., Decarbonization, Geocycle), managing external agencies to elevate our online presence.
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of events and campaigns, managing budgets and cross-functional resources to maximize impact.
- Monitor and analyze communication effectiveness through audits, focus groups, and dedicated KPIs to continuously optimize messaging and engagement.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3–5 years of progressive communications experience in a multinational corporation, with a background in manufacturing, supply chain, or industrial sectors considered a strong advantage.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- Expertise in multi-channel communications, digital governance, social media strategy, and brand positioning, with a proven ability to lead change communications in a global matrix organization.
- Exceptional storytelling and strategic thinking skills, with the confidence to engage and influence senior decision-makers; high resilience and agility are essential for navigating this fast-paced environment.
- Native or bilingual level of English is required; proficiency in additional languages is considered a plus.
