Background:

This is a senior expert position reporting to the Head of Integrated Portfolio Communications Diagnostics. This critical role has a global scope, encompassing the overall responsibility to develop integrated communications launch plans across the Diagnostics portfolio, including Roche Diagnostics Solutions and Roche Information Solutions (RDS and RIS). You will connect with Pharma partners as appropriate to deliver maximum impact.

In this temporary position, you will partner with colleagues in the Diagnostics Global Customer Service organization and Communications teams to fulfill the communications strategy, planning, and execution. You will primarily engage and inspire key stakeholders and internal audiences through effective strategy delivery and the execution of tactics designed to inform and motivate Diagnostics employees. As a communications expert, you will contribute to change communication and specialized content creation efforts.

Collaboration is key in this role. You will work alongside the broader Diagnostics Communications community, partnering with colleagues in various functions to define objectives, approaches, and areas of focus. Embracing an agile mindset, you will be driven by change, advising on effective communication strategies and supporting their implementation, all while playing a significant role in transforming Diagnostics and honing your leadership skills in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with your colleagues in the Business Partner and Communications teams, drive the planning and delivery of integrated communications strategies, narratives, and campaigns that engage and align stakeholders at both cross-functional and team-specific levels.
  • Align communications strategy, goals, and objectives to overall priorities, providing support for high-value, impactful employee engagement and change communications.
  • Develop communications tools and strategies to engage a diverse workforce, equip leaders with the skills to inspire their organizations, and empower colleagues with the tools they need to maximize stakeholder interactions.
  • Facilitate end-to-end integrated communication planning, including assessment against objectives.
  • Maintain a broad knowledge of the Diagnostics Customer Service organization, utilizing business and communications insights and decision principles to effectively address topics of varying complexity.
  • Stay updated on internal and external developments and industry trends relating to strategic communication and 'new ways of working' priorities.

Must Haves:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in communications, with a focus on external communications preferably in the pharmaceutical or diagnostics industry.
  • The ability to manage indirectly and ensure outcomes through indirect leadership.
  • International or global work experience.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage global communications strategies, plans, activities, and teams.
  • Outstanding strategic agility and a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare/diagnostics industry.
  • Excellent consulting skills, including the ability to actively listen, process key information, summarize internal customer needs, and provide targeted insights and recommendations.
  • Exceptional influencing and negotiation skills, optimizing results through effective collaboration.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and partnering skills, with a proven track record of building strong relationships with internal and external partners/stakeholders.
  • Self-motivation, thriving in a non-hierarchical, self-organizing environment.
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written).
