Your Mission
Job Description
- Public Relations: Develop and execute a forward-thinking media and PR strategy that builds trust, positions Climeworks as a climate innovation leader, and protects our reputation in complex stakeholder environments.
- Crisis Communication: Act as the first responder for reputation-critical events, designing and managing strategic responses to media scrutiny, regulatory inquiries, or public criticism on sensitive climate-related topics.
- Internal & External Communications: Align internal messaging with external narratives, ensuring consistency and clarity across teams, geographies, and platforms, while serving as a communication partner to the CEO and leadership team.
- Branding: Own and evolve the brand strategy, ensuring the visual identity, tone of voice, and positioning reflect company values. Lead branding efforts aligned with strategic goals and oversee impactful brand activations and thought leadership events.
- Agencies: Select, brief, and manage external communication and branding agencies, ensuring their performance and strategic integration into broader business objectives.
- Leadership: Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of approximately eight full-time employees across communications, PR, brand, and content, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
Your Story
Requirements
- Educational Background: Master's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent strategic training is a strong plus.
- Experience and Industry Exposure: Over 10 years of leadership experience with team and budget responsibility, and more than 15 years in the tech industry. Demonstrated leadership in controversial or high-risk industries is essential.
- Expertise and Technical Competencies: Strong expertise in crisis and scientific communication, combined with experience in brand strategy and messaging for diverse audiences.
- Interpersonal and Leadership Skills: Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments while maintaining calm and focus during challenging situations. A proactive team player who understands organizational needs.
- Languages and Travel: Fluent in English and willing to travel occasionally.
