Join the NCCR Catalysis Project Office

The National Center of Competence in Research, NCCR Catalysis, is dedicated to advancing skills, tools, and technologies that support the transition to a carbon-neutral and waste-free chemical industry, contributing to a sustainable society. Since its inception in 2020, the research program has been jointly led by ETH Zurich and EPFL, receiving funding from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). Currently, the initiative comprises 14 member institutions and includes over 200 researchers. The second funding phase of the program, which runs from August 2024 to July 2028, is currently in progress, with preparations underway for the final phase scheduled from August 2028 to July 2032.

Position Available: Communication and Events Officer (80-100%)

The NCCR Catalysis Project Office is seeking a highly motivated Communication and Events Officer to join our team and enhance our activities. In this role, you will collaborate with the Project Office and the Management Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communication: Strengthen and expand ongoing communication efforts across all platforms, including the website, social media, and newsletters.
  • Event Organization: Assist in organizing various international conferences and educational schools, as well as support annual meetings and other significant events like the Annual Review Meeting and Sustainability Day.
  • Yearly Reporting: Contribute to data entry and analysis within reporting interfaces and assist in scientific writing.
  • Educational Activities: Coordinate and support visits from guest lecturers.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications:

  • M.Sc. in chemical sciences or a related field.
  • Experience in scientific communication, marketing, social media writing, and event organization.
  • Proactive, team-oriented, and possess strong communication, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent command of English; knowledge of German and/or French is a plus.
  • Self-motivated, curious, and comfortable working on various topics.
  • Willingness to learn and utilize modern digital tools for communication, coordination, and reporting.
  • Able to participate in up to three multi-day on-site events annually in Switzerland.
