Position Overview
Join our dynamic team to support the desk in developing supply and demand models across a variety of agricultural commodities. You will assist in the creation of new analytical models and processes aimed at enhancing efficiency based on fundamental best practices in commodities. Your role will also involve producing ad hoc analyses based on short-term market developments to support our commodities trading strategies.
Take ownership of the desk's data flows, which includes onboarding new datasets and troubleshooting any issues that may arise. Additionally, you will run and maintain processes related to fundamental data operations while collaborating with various teams to capture cross-desk synergies, such as equity mapping, and improving systematic reporting of information flow. Your support will also extend to ad-hoc desk help, whether it be organization or technical assistance.
Typical Day
- Verify that all models and visualizations are functioning correctly and address any data-related issues.
- Organize the team’s Confluence pages to ensure all information is current.
- Produce any ad-hoc analyses required by traders and analysts.
- Contribute to various long-term projects aimed at building market-leading analytical models.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MSc preferred) in Mathematics, Statistics, or Quantitative Finance.
- Experience in quantitative research, preferably gained through internships or related positions, particularly in commodities trading.
- Familiarity with highly quantitative trading asset classes, especially in power, as well as experience in systematic trading.
- Proficiency in coding with Python is essential; familiarity with Excel and VBA is advantageous.
- A demonstrated passion for investing and an understanding of trends in commodity markets.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to synthesize information clearly and concisely.
- Willingness to tackle any project or task that may arise.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and regions.
- Fluency in English and Turkish.
