Main Responsibilities

P&L Reporting & Monitoring

  • Assist in preparing the P&L files, reporting, and performance analysis, while providing a comprehensive view of overall profitability.
  • Generate and analyze daily/weekly P&L and exposure reports.
  • Support P&L reviews with trading teams.
  • Collaborate daily with Trading, Hedge Desk, WSMD, Execution, Risk Management, General Accounting, and Finance departments.
  • Execute daily controls and processes to ensure data quality in front systems.
  • Conduct contract confirmation by understanding business flow, reviewing contractual terms, and verifying populated fields in the front system.
  • Oversee the finalization of shipments (trade to cash).
  • Coordinate database freezes in front systems.
  • Update Mark-To-Market and benchmark values in front systems by simulating impacts and controlling the relevance of values with supporting documents.
  • Assist in reviewing volumes.
  • Calculate and reconcile month-end inventory.
  • Help prepare the statutory P&L, including the transfer of hedges between metal entities and IC P&L.
  • Conduct ad-hoc P&L analysis to improve reporting and generate financial insights for Trading and Finance.

Position Management

  • Manage and update the physical position by month, counterparty, and type of cargo.
  • Ensure integrity of the physical position by regularly liaising with trading teams across offices.
  • Propose allocations based on the best terms/P&L to the desk head.
  • Report weekly open forward contracts positions to the risk team for VAR purposes.

Hedge Desk

  • Ensure proper execution, confirmation, and booking of pricing orders from clients/traders in the system.
  • Maintain pricing for physical contracts and allocate corresponding hedges.
  • Gather daily pricing orders and send the finalized ones to the IB desk.
  • Prepare orders for average trades at the beginning of the month.
  • Monitor FX exposure related to physical contracts and ensure proper hedging.
  • Assist the finalization team with confirming final pricing.
  • Follow and propose hedging strategies.
  • Contribute to process improvements, implement reconciliations, and provide regular feedback to adapt current practices in response to evolving business needs.

Education, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Statistics.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a trading company.
  • At least 1 year of experience in concentrate trading.
  • Previous experience as Head of Middle Office is preferred.
  • Strong experience monitoring all types of risk in a trading environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated commercial and strategic mindset.
  • Ability to be flexible and work under deadlines and pressure.
  • Strong influencing skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective business relationships.
  • Experience as a Trader is a plus.
