Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Combustor Operation Specialist, you will be pivotal in the development, integration, and validation of innovative combustor concepts aimed at reducing emissions and enhancing performance. This role will also involve optimizing combustor operations for customers, particularly with future fuels like hydrogen.

Your Tasks

  • Integrating new combustor technologies and hardware into the engine operational envelope
  • Specifying emission guarantees
  • Executing 1D combustor air distribution calculations
  • Developing combustor operation concepts and commissioning specifications
  • Supporting tendering and execution team requests
  • Evaluating technical risks
  • Maintaining interfaces with other gas turbine engineering teams
  • Addressing integrated plant support items
  • Supporting after-sales service upgrade package development and validation for GT26, GT36, AE64, and AE94 fleet commissioning
  • Supporting the validation of new combustor technologies and hardware

Your Profile

  • University degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, focusing on fluid dynamics, applied mathematics, or combustion
  • Experience in 1D flow network calculations
  • Knowledge of chemistry or cooling and heat transfer is a plus
  • Programming skills in Python or VBA and experience in test data post-processing are advantageous
  • A critical mindset, problem-solving attitude, and analytical thinking are essential
  • Ability to take responsibility and work independently and systematically
  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time, globally
  • Excellent command of the English language, strong communication skills, and a positive attitude towards teamwork
