About This Role
As the International Center of Excellence (I-CoE) Medical Director for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), you will be based in Baar, Switzerland, and will play a crucial role in leading medical initiatives within I-CoE. This position is essential for shaping the medical strategy across the European and BIR regions. You will be responsible for driving the implementation of above-market medical initiatives and ensuring a cohesive medical voice that aligns with the vision and strategy of the therapeutic area (TA). By partnering with affiliates from key markets, your contributions will be vital in co-creating content and providing regional-specific insights. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including commercial, corporate affairs, and value & access, you'll help ensure the consistent application of scientific narratives. This role presents a unique opportunity to enhance understanding of the medical landscape related to SMA and to contribute to strategic execution during pre-launch, launch, and integrated customer planning phases.
What You’ll Do
- Support the development and strategic execution of the I-CoE Medical Plan, encompassing pre-launch, launch, and integrated customer planning.
- Implement assigned I-CoE medical initiatives within agreed timelines and budgets.
- Evaluate the use and perceived value of medical initiatives, providing suggestions for enhancement.
- Collaborate with affiliates to co-create content that aligns with critical path priorities in key markets.
- Work with cross-functional partners to ensure a consistent understanding and application of the scientific narrative.
- Analyze and interpret clinical data and published real-world evidence for inclusion in the TA scientific narrative.
- Identify critical gaps in data or patient journeys across Europe and BIR key markets.
- Drive the evolution of the TA scientific narrative by incorporating new data and insights from the clinical landscape.
- Provide scientific and medical leadership to advance understanding of the medical landscape pertaining to the therapeutic area.

Required Skills
- MD/PhD/Science degree.
- Ideally, 3+ years of experience in a medical role within rare diseases.
- Experience working at both affiliate and above-market levels across multiple regions and countries.
