Job Opportunity: Claims Manager
We are currently seeking a Claims Manager for our client, an innovative insurance coverholder specializing in Energy and Property. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team in a smaller organization that values flexibility and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the Claims Manager will include:
- Receipt and acknowledgment of notifications
- Claims management, including market participation, communication with loss adjusters, assessment of information provided by loss adjusters and experts, reserve setting, and settlement agreements
- Liaison with the underwriting team regarding underwriting and feedback from claims experience
- Preparation of monthly bordereaux and submission to Underwriters
- Distribution of claims funds to insureds (generally via brokers)
- Liaison with supporting Underwriters in respect of large claims
Ad-Hoc Responsibilities
The Claims Manager will also be responsible for a variety of ad-hoc tasks such as:
- Presentations to existing and potential supporting capacity providers
- Response to specific queries from carriers and brokers
- Preparation for and participation in Underwriter-instructed audits
- Participation in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a new Information Management System
Desired Skills and Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following skills:
- Approximately 5 years of claims management experience in a technical field
- Proficiency in Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
- Team goal oriented
- Effective communication skills and willingness to engage
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken; proficiency in German is an advantage
- Abilities to comprehend and assess complex loss adjuster and technical reports
- Capability to clearly articulate our client's position both orally and in writing, particularly regarding coverage matters
As a member of a smaller organization, the Claims Manager will be expected to demonstrate flexibility in taking on tasks beyond their primary role as capacity allows.
