Job Opportunity: Claims Manager

We are currently seeking a Claims Manager for our client, an innovative insurance coverholder specialized in Energy and Property. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic organization, where you will play a key part in managing claims effectively and collaborating with various teams.

Key Responsibilities

The Claims Manager will undertake the following key tasks:

  • Receipt and acknowledgment of notifications
  • Claims management, including market participation, communication with loss adjusters, assessment of information provided by loss adjusters and experts, reserve setting, and settlement agreements
  • Liaison with the underwriting team regarding underwriting and feedback from claims experience
  • Preparation of monthly bordereaux and submission to Underwriters
  • Distribution of claims funds to insureds, generally via brokers
  • Liaison with supporting Underwriters regarding large claims

Additional Responsibilities

Alongside regular Claims Management tasks, the Claims Manager will also be responsible for ad-hoc duties such as:

  • Delivering presentations to existing and potential supporting capacity providers
  • Responding to specific inquiries from carriers and brokers
  • Preparing for and participating in Underwriter-instructed audits
  • Participating in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a new Information Management System

Ideal Candidate Profile

As a smaller organization, our client values flexibility and expects each team member to be willing to take on tasks outside their primary responsibilities, as capacity allows.

The ideal Claims Manager should possess the following skills:

  • Approximately 5 years of claims management experience in a technical field
  • Proficiency in Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Detail-oriented and focused
  • Team goal-oriented
  • Effective communication skills and readiness to engage
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken; proficiency in German is an advantage
  • Ability to comprehend and assess linguistically demanding loss adjuster and technical reports
  • Capability to articulate the client’s position, both orally and in writing, particularly in relation to coverage matters
