Claims Manager Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Claims Manager for our client, an innovative insurance coverholder specializing in Energy and Property. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient claims processing and stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities

The Claims Manager's responsibilities include:

  • Receipt and acknowledgment of notifications
  • Claims management, which covers market participation, communication with loss adjusters, assessment of information provided by loss adjusters and experts, reserve setting, and settlement agreements
  • Liaison with the underwriting team regarding underwriting and feedback from claims experience
  • Preparation of monthly bordereaux and submission to Underwriters
  • Distribution of claims funds to insured parties, typically through brokers
  • Liaison with supporting Underwriters regarding large claims

Ad-Hoc Responsibilities

In addition to regular Claims Management tasks, the Claims Manager will also handle:

  • Presentations to existing and potential supporting capacity providers
  • Responses to specific queries from carriers and brokers
  • Preparation for and participation in Underwriter-instructed audits
  • Participation in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a new Information Management System

As a smaller organization, our client values flexibility and expects each team member to take on tasks outside their primary area of expertise as workload permits.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Claims Manager position should possess the following skills and experience:

  • Approximately 5 years of claims management experience in a technical field
  • Proficiency in Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality
  • Team-oriented, with a commitment to collective goals
  • Effective communication skills and a readiness to engage
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken; proficiency in German is a plus.

Important abilities include the comprehension and assessment of complex loss adjuster and technical reports, as well as the capability to accurately articulate our client's position regarding coverage issues.
