Job Description

Kita Glitzerfisch is seeking a warm, reliable, and enthusiastic native English-speaking Childcare Assistant to join our team in a part-time role (40% - 50%). English is naturally integrated into the children's daily routine at our childcare center. In this position, you will engage with the children consistently in English, fostering a positive and intuitive relationship with the language through everyday interactions rather than traditional classroom lessons.

Your Responsibilities

• Support the care, supervision, and development of children in their daily routines.
• Communicate with children consistently and naturally in English.
• Introduce English through everyday situations, play, and age-appropriate activities.
• Plan and lead short, engaging activities in English.
• Singing English songs and introducing rhymes, finger plays, and movement games.
• Read and tell English stories and picture books.
• Organize creative, musical, and physical activities in English.
• Support children during free play, meals, outings, and rest periods.
• Respond to children's individual ages, developmental stages, interests, and needs.
• Create a warm, safe, and encouraging environment for children to explore English.
• Work closely with qualified childcare professionals and the group leader.
• Support the implementation of the educational concept at Kita Glitzerfisch.
• Contribute to the daily and weekly programming.
• Participate in team meetings and internal discussions.
• Follow quality, hygiene, and safety standards set by the childcare center.
• Help maintain order, cleanliness, and a positive environment within the group.
• Support the team with general practical tasks during the childcare day.

Essential Requirements

• English must be your native language.
• You should communicate naturally, confidently, and age-appropriately in English.
• Practical experience in caring for or working with children is required.
• You must genuinely enjoy supporting children and introducing them to English through play and everyday interactions.
• You should be warm, patient, empathetic, and respectful in your interactions with children.
• Responsible, reliable, and independent work ethic is essential.
• Enjoy working as part of a team, with open and professional communication.
• Flexibility and resilience in a lively childcare environment are crucial.
• Willingness to implement the educational concept and quality standards of Kita Glitzerfisch.
• Basic proficiency in German to communicate with the team is necessary.
• A current criminal record certificate and Swiss special private extract for working with children is required.

A qualification in childcare, early childhood education, or a related field is advantageous but not essential. Your experience with children, personal compatibility, and ability to naturally integrate English into everyday childcare are particularly important to us.
