Position Summary

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will be responsible for defining and executing the company's overarching technology strategy. This role encompasses the development of key capabilities in robotics, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, digital infrastructure, and enterprise digital transformation solutions.

The CTO will ensure that the technology strategy aligns seamlessly with the demands of the Swiss and European markets. Additionally, the individual in this position will lead the cultivation of the company's ecosystem of robotics and technology products, suppliers, partners, and solutions.

This role combines senior technology leadership, product and technology evaluation, international supplier management, strategic customer engagement, solution development, and commercialization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the company's overall technology strategy and long-term technology roadmap.
  • Build technology capabilities in robotics, AI, cloud computing, digital infrastructure, and enterprise digital transformation.
  • Lead and develop technology and solution teams.
  • Evaluate robotics products, technology platforms, and integrated solutions tailored for the Swiss and European markets.
  • Oversee technology evaluation, product selection, supplier qualification, and solution integration.
  • Manage Swiss, European, Chinese, and other international technology suppliers and strategic partners.
  • Lead technical due diligence, product evaluation, technology selection, and technical/commercial negotiations.
  • Identify robotics applications across various sectors including manufacturing, logistics, retail, energy, security, utilities, research, and education.
  • Drive solutions from proof of concept and pilot implementation to commercialization and large-scale deployment.
  • Integrate robotics with AI, computer vision, cloud platforms, data systems, enterprise applications, and existing automation equipment.
  • Engage with large enterprises, government organizations, research institutions, and strategic customers at senior technical and executive levels.
  • Lead customer requirements analysis, technical consulting, demonstrations, solution design, proof of concepts, and tender support.
  • Develop the company's technology partner ecosystem.
  • Establish standards for presales, delivery, training, and after-sales technical support.
  • Coordinate technology, sales, project delivery, suppliers, and strategic partners.
  • Make major technology decisions and ensure the successful implementation of strategic projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Robotics, Automation, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, ICT, or a related technical/engineering discipline.
  • A Master's or PhD degree is an advantage.
  • At least 15 years of professional experience in robotics, automation, AI, ICT, cloud computing, enterprise solutions, or digital transformation.
  • At least 8 years of experience leading technology teams or cross-functional technology organizations.
  • Experience as CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Technology, Technology Director, Chief Architect, Head of Solutions, Regional Technology Lead, or similar senior leadership roles is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge in one or more areas of robotics and intelligent automation.
  • Experience with robotics hardware, perception, computer vision, navigation, robotics software/middleware, AI/machine learning, manipulation, or embodied intelligence.
  • Proven experience across the entire technology and solution lifecycle, including technical evaluation, supplier selection, proof of concept, customer validation, commercialization, and large-scale deployment.
  • Experience advising large enterprises, government organizations, research institutions, or strategic customers.
  • Experience managing international technology suppliers and partners.
  • Knowledge of the Swiss and/or European B2B technology markets is an advantage.
  • Understanding of European product safety, data protection, cybersecurity, and technology compliance requirements.
  • Fluent in professional English.
  • Professional working proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is desirable.
  • German language skills are an advantage.
