Role Overview

We are seeking a Chief Scientist with extensive expertise and capabilities to lead our initiatives in innovation and advanced techniques. This role will ensure the successful operation of projects within our lab through pathfinding research and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the team in identifying the evolution of next-generation computing architectures, focusing on AI accelerators and general-purpose processors.
  • Continuously monitor global technology trends and anticipate breakthroughs and disruptions in the field.
  • Define key challenges in next-generation architecture evolution and prioritize them based on their impact on future competitiveness and performance.
  • Set high-standard research goals and supervise the team in achieving leading-edge solutions.
  • Guide the team to develop outstanding capabilities in architecture design and performance analysis, using rapid workload modeling and computational mapping on specific hardware architectures.
  • Motivate the team to create competitive solutions that surpass existing industry standards and align with market needs.
  • Represent the team at internal and external events, articulating technical viewpoints with clarity and authority.
  • Develop partnerships with academic institutions and industry partners to enhance research collaboration.
  • Ensure the team consistently delivers high-quality research outputs, including significant technological breakthroughs, influential publications, and valuable patents.

Requirements

  • PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with proven achievements in advanced computing architecture, particularly in AI scenarios.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in research and development within the field of computing architecture, including substantial leadership experience.
  • Deep understanding of AI technologies, especially in areas such as LLM, foundation models, multimodal computing, HPC, graphics & rendering, cryptography, and quantum computing.
  • Exceptional publication record in reputable journals and conferences, with an h-index of no less than 30.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in exploring and designing advanced microarchitecture, SoC, hardware platforms, and memory solutions.
  • Proficiency in workload analysis and mapping, as well as software-hardware co-design.
  • Knowledge of critical topics in chip design and manufacturing processes.
