Chief Actuary ART - Wallisellen

We are searching for a Chief Actuary ART to join our team in Wallisellen.

Your Team

Our dedicated team is focused on enhancing a robust, forward-looking actuarial function that supports Allianz Risk Transfer AG and the global Alternative Risk Transfer Line of Business across all regulatory, financial, and strategic dimensions. Through collaboration, we ensure high-quality reserving, capital modeling, and risk insights, while cultivating a culture of analytical excellence, continuous improvement, and alignment with the broader finance community, underwriting, and reinsurance sectors.

The Impact You Will Have

As the Chief Actuary, reporting to the Managing Director Finance ART and collaborating closely with the Chief Reserving Actuary of Allianz Commercial, you will significantly influence ART's actuarial initiatives. You will work alongside colleagues throughout the organization to evolve reserving approaches, enhance capital modeling practices, and maintain high-quality technical provisions. Your actuarial insights will inform cross-functional discussions, fostering shared understanding and promoting well-coordinated outcomes. Your expertise will guide ART AG within the Swiss Solvency Test framework and contribute to Solvency II group reporting, as well as the formulation of global actuarial standards for the ART Line of Business.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the actuarial strategy and provide leadership for ART AG and the global ART Line of Business, ensuring robust reserving, capital modeling, and reinsurance oversight aligned with regulatory and Group expectations.
  • Lead reserving and technical provisions, applying a robust best-estimate methodology, maintaining transparent assumptions, and conducting regular reserve reviews.
  • Oversee risk-capital modeling to ensure compliance with SST requirements and support Solvency II group aggregation in collaboration with Risk Management.
  • Provide actuarial oversight of the reinsurance program, evaluating capital and P&L impacts.
  • Serve as the actuarial liaison to regulators and auditors, ensuring clear communication and high-quality regulatory submissions for ART AG, ART Bermuda, and ART LoB.
  • Contribute actuarial insights to strategic planning initiatives, including capital considerations, portfolio management, and long-term growth of the ART business.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

  • Qualified actuary with a university degree in actuarial science, mathematics, physics, or finance.
  • 10+ years of senior actuarial or quantitative risk management experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of non-life (re)insurance business and non-traditional ART Line of Business.
  • Thorough understanding of ART actuarial methodologies, including reserving approaches, underwriting risk modeling, and relevant regulatory frameworks such as SST and Solvency II.
  • Experience in communication with regulatory bodies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, capable of navigating complexity and taking decisive action.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, adapting style for diverse audiences to ensure clarity and understanding.
  • Proven leadership skills, capable of motivating teams in dynamic environments and guiding them through change.
  • Commitment to ethical AI practices and staying current with emerging AI technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop international or virtual teams within a complex global matrix environment.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in German is a plus.
