Chief Actuary ART Position in Wallisellen

We are seeking a talented Chief Actuary for Allianz Risk Transfer AG, located in Wallisellen.

The Impact You Will Have

As the Chief Actuary reporting to the Managing Director of Finance ART and working in collaboration with the Chief Reserving Actuary of Allianz Commercial, you will play a pivotal role in shaping ACT's actuarial endeavors. Your close collaboration with colleagues across the business will drive the evolution of reserving approaches, enhance capital modeling practices, and maintain rigorous technical provisions. By integrating actuarial insights into cross-functional discussions, you will foster a shared understanding and facilitate well-coordinated outcomes. Your expertise will also guide ART AG within the Swiss Solvency Test framework and contribute to Solvency II group reporting, as well as the development of global actuarial standards for the ART Line of Business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the actuarial strategy and provide leadership for ART AG and the global ART Line of Business, ensuring strong reserving, capital modeling, and reinsurance oversight compliant with regulatory and Group expectations.
  • Lead reserving and technical provisions, employing robust best-estimate methodologies, transparent assumptions, and conducting regular reserve reviews.
  • Oversee risk-capital modeling, ensuring compliance with SST requirements and supporting Solvency II group aggregation in close partnership with Risk Management.
  • Provide actuarial oversight for the reinsurance program, including evaluations of capital and P&L impacts.
  • Act as the actuarial liaison to regulators and auditors, ensuring clear communication and high-quality regulatory submissions for ART AG, ART Bermuda, and the ART Line of Business.
  • Contribute actuarial insights to strategic planning, including capital considerations, portfolio steering, and long-term business development.

What You Will Bring to the Role

  • Qualified actuary with a university degree in actuarial science, mathematics, physics, or finance.
  • 10+ years of senior actuarial or quantitative risk management experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of non-life (re)insurance business and non-traditional ART Lines of Business.
  • In-depth understanding of ART actuarial methodologies, including reserving techniques, underwriting-risk modeling, and regulatory frameworks such as SST and Solvency II.
  • Experience interacting with regulatory bodies.
  • Adept at navigating complex issues, managing ambiguity, and taking decisive, well-judged actions.
  • Strong communication skills, able to adapt messaging for different audiences and ensure clarity of understanding.
  • Proven people-leadership skills, capable of motivating teams in a dynamic environment and guiding them through change.
  • Commitment to ethical AI practices, with an interest in emerging AI technologies essential for maintaining a competitive edge.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop international and/or virtual teams within a complex global matrix environment.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in German is a plus.
