Job Vacancy: Teacher of Chemistry
We are seeking an outstanding and highly motivated Teacher of Chemistry who embraces forward-thinking pedagogical practices and is capable of teaching the subject at MYP/IGCSE and IB Diploma levels. This role is tailored for a Chemistry specialist who is equally comfortable in the classroom and collaborating with colleagues, balancing both teaching and leadership responsibilities in alignment with the school's needs.
Main Duties
- Teach across a wide age and ability range, adapting lessons to meet the needs of each individual student.
- Contribute to the broader school community through participation in sporting events, extracurricular activities, and other enrichment opportunities.
- Engage in continuous professional development to enhance your own teaching practice.
- Show a clear commitment to the safeguarding of all young people.
- Complete subject-related administration as needed and participate in or lead department meetings.
- Follow the school’s assessment and reporting processes and attend parents’ meetings as required.
- Ensure exceptional standards of Health & Safety within the Science Department.
- Maintain and effectively manage Science supplies, adhering to CLEAPSS protocols for the safe storage, use, and disposal of materials.
The Ideal Candidate

- You have previous experience leading a Science Department, ideally in an environment where students followed the IBDP.
- You hold a good honors degree and/or a further degree in a directly related subject.

- You possess a passion for your subject and the ability to inspire others.
- You embrace developments and innovations in teaching and are willing to experiment with new practices.
- You are willing to supervise learners completing the MYP Personal Project or the DP Extended Essay as needed.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
