Your Mission

Job Description

  • Sorbent Characterization: Conduct testing to evaluate and characterize sorbent materials.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Perform tests to support troubleshooting requests from operational plants.
  • Material Processing: Assist with drying, milling, and other processing activities for sorbent materials.
  • Documentation & Standards: Contribute to the preparation of technical specifications and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Laboratory Operations: Support lab activities, including purchase orders, transport logistics, and coordination with storage providers.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work effectively with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating strong communication skills and a proactive team spirit.
  • Health & Safety: Promote and implement a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Your Story

Requirements

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field, preferably in analytical chemistry, industrial chemistry, material sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Analytical Expertise: Practical experience with material characterization methods such as gas physisorption, Hg porosimetry, breakthrough analysis, and GC/MS.
  • Professional Experience: A research laboratory background with ideally 3+ years of industrial experience.
  • Hands-On Approach: Strong motivation for practical laboratory work and experimentation.
  • Domain Knowledge: Prior knowledge of carbon capture is considered an advantage.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in German is a plus.

This position is based in Opfikon, Zurich, where working onsite at least three days per week is required. The percentage in the job title indicates flexibility; you can choose between full-time or part-time based on your needs.
