Role Overview

As a key member of our Galley team aboard our River vessels, the Chef de Partie is responsible for preparing meals that meet the highest standards of guest satisfaction in line with Viking River Cruises guidelines and HACCP regulations. The Chef de Partie will report directly to the Executive Chef and the Sous-Chef.

What You Will Do On Board

  • Prepare and serve daily meals (breakfast, lunch, teatime, dinner) for both crew and guests according to the menu cycle and Executive Chef manual.
  • Order and manage stock in collaboration with the Executive Chef, ensuring proper handling of all products and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean working area in compliance with HACCP standards and company policies.
  • Perform stock takes and inventory in accordance with company procedures, establish par levels, and participate in loading processes.
  • Assist in opening and closing ships at the start and end of the season while participating in onboard training programs.
  • Assist with luggage duty during embarkation and disembarkation days and provide support to other departments as needed.

About You

  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the hotel/catering industry or restaurants.
  • International experience or ship experience is advantageous.
  • Proficient command of English; fluency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently while prioritizing guest satisfaction.
  • Flexibility, stress resistance, teamwork, commitment, a positive attitude, and a neat appearance.
