Job Title: Executive Sous Chef / Chef De Cuisine

Join a prestigious Indian restaurant chain as we launch our first location in Switzerland. We are looking for an experienced Executive Sous Chef / Chef De Cuisine who will lead shift teams while personally preparing exquisite Indian food items and executing requests based on specified requirements.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be accountable for the quality, consistency, and production of the restaurant kitchen. Key responsibilities include:

  • Exhibiting culinary talents by performing tasks while leading the staff in managing all food-related functions.
  • Coordinating menus focusing on vegetarian cuisine, as well as purchasing, staffing, and food preparation.
  • Working collaboratively with the team to enhance guest and employee satisfaction while adhering to the operating budget.
  • Ensuring all sanitation and food standards are met.
  • Developing and training team members to improve performance and results.

Candidate Profile

We seek individuals who possess the following:

  • High school diploma or GED; a minimum of 10+ years of experience in Indian culinary arts, food and beverage, or a related professional area.
  • A 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with South Indian cuisine is essential.

Core Work Activities

As part of your role, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring culinary standards and responsibilities are met for the restaurant.
  • Supervising kitchen operations and ensuring compliance with all Food & Beverage policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Maintaining food preparation handling and correct storage standards.
  • Recognizing superior quality products, presentations, and flavors.
  • Planning and managing food quantities and plating requirements.
  • Communicating production needs to key personnel.
  • Assisting in the development of daily and seasonal menu items.
  • Preparing and cooking Indian foods with a focus on Chat cuisine and ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Creating decorative food displays and determining presentation methods.
  • Leading, supervising, and coordinating kitchen staff activities.
  • Managing day-to-day operations efficiently and effectively.
