Category Manager Raw Materials - Fillers & Minerals (m/w/d)

This position offers you the chance to implement and expand your innovative ideas within a specialized and forward-looking company. You will collaborate with various departments and external partners. Your Responsibilities

  • Lead supplier price and contract negotiations to secure optimal terms and conditions.
  • Develop and implement category strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives across assigned categories.
  • Establish and maintain a strategic supplier panel to ensure long-term supply security.
  • Share relevant market insights with internal stakeholders to support strategic decision-making.
  • Organize and conduct regular business review meetings with key suppliers.
  • Ensure competitive pricing and favorable commercial terms through strategic sourcing.
  • Draft, manage, and ensure compliance with supplier contracts.
  • Meet key performance indicators (KPIs), with a focus on cost management and supplier performance.
  • Build strong supplier relationships and secure long-term contingency planning.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration to align procurement strategies with corporate objectives.
  • Engage in active communication and negotiation with suppliers to achieve best-value outcomes.

Our Requirements

  • Master's degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience; in-depth understanding of the industry is a plus.
  • Proven track record of over 5 years in the procurement or supply chain sector, focusing on strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive cost-saving initiatives, achieving measurable improvements in efficiency and profitability.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in managing complex contract negotiations.
  • Forward-thinking, self-directed, capable of taking independent actions, and able to make decisions that drive business performance.
  • Project management skills to support procurement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of computer software, including ERP systems and digital procurement tools.
  • Fluent in written and oral English (Level C1); proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel (approximately 5-10%).
