Your New Role

As the Emerging Markets Cardiometabolic Marketing Director, you will be at the forefront of commercial strategy and marketing execution across a diverse region that includes Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia. This pivotal leadership role will enable you to drive business growth, oversee a rapidly expanding cardiometabolic portfolio—including Wegovy®, Ozempic®, and upcoming launches—and ultimately shape how millions of patients access life-changing treatments.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial strategy and marketing execution to achieve ambitious sales targets and expand market presence across diverse emerging markets.
  • Drive world-class product launches for the cardiometabolic franchise, including upcoming assets such as Wegovy Pill®, Cagrisema, and Awiqly.
  • Define and implement loss of exclusivity (LoE) strategies for injectable semaglutide, ensuring seamless transition planning across all markets.
  • Prioritize the portfolio to pursue the highest-value opportunities, balancing new product launches with lifecycle management initiatives.
  • Lead consumerization efforts in the obesity and weight management category, bringing innovative go-to-market approaches.
  • Build and lead cross-functional teams across the region to drive innovation, best-practice adoption, and agile ways of working.
  • Develop and manage budgets, set operational targets, and monitor performance metrics to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Represent the region externally with vendors and partners for congress planning and strategic collaborations.

Your Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for a strategic marketing leader with extensive commercial expertise and a proven track record in driving business growth across complex, multi-market environments. You should possess:

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in sales or business management with multi-country or regional scope, ideally within emerging markets.
  • A proven record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering measurable business growth and performance improvements.
  • A professional degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (an advanced degree is preferred).
  • Strong people leadership experience managing leaders and large, diverse teams across various geographies and cultures.
  • Hands-on experience in emerging markets and/or consumer marketing, with an understanding of the nuances of these dynamic healthcare environments.
  • A strategic mindset with business acumen, including budgeting, resource allocation, and financial target setting.
  • Excellence in stakeholder engagement, with the ability to build relationships across healthcare systems, public institutions, and internal partners.
  • Change management capabilities to lead organizational transformation and implement scalable commercial solutions.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex strategies and decisions across all organizational levels.
