Boost Our Team

In this role, you will manage the entire CAPEX portfolio for our site in Bern. This encompasses strategic planning, budgeting, execution, and monitoring of capital investment projects. A crucial aspect of your responsibilities will be to serve as a hands-on Project Manager for selected high-impact projects. The position reports functionally to the Global CAPEX Team and leads a team of Project Managers and Controllers.

About the Role

  • Lead and manage the site’s full CAPEX portfolio, ensuring prioritization, regulatory compliance, and alignment with corporate strategy.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Project Managers and Controllers, ensuring effective resource planning and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Act as Project Manager for critical CAPEX projects, taking strong ownership of feasibility and FEED phases to ensure robust project definition and risk mitigation.
  • Plan, monitor, and control CAPEX budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting and cost management aligned with financial targets.
  • Collaborate closely with the Global CAPEX organization to implement standardized processes, tools, and reporting systems.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure full compliance with GMP, safety, and internal policies in vaccine manufacturing projects.

About You

  • 8+ years of CAPEX project management experience in the biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical industry, including leadership in feasibility and FEED phases.
  • Proven experience in leading and developing project teams within complex, regulated environments.
  • Strong hands-on project management skills throughout the full CAPEX lifecycle.
  • Solid budget management, forecasting, and analytical capabilities.
  • In-depth understanding of GMP and regulatory requirements for vaccine or biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Project Management certification (PMP, IPMA Level C or higher preferred) and proficiency in tools such as MS Project and SAP.
