Your New Role

As a Business Unit Director, you will spearhead the identification, development, and implementation of business opportunities, positioning Novo Nordisk Switzerland as a leader in Rare Diseases. You will enhance the potential of our employees and the organization while embodying Novo Nordisk’s core vision, values, and commitments.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic development and business planning for the Rare Disease business unit, defining goals, strategies, budgets, and identifying business opportunities to maximize the potential of Rare Disease in Switzerland.
  • Oversee marketing and launch activities for Rare Disease products, including preparing marketing plans, aligning investments with business strategy, and managing successful product launches.
  • Coordinate cross-functional alignment between medical and marketing teams, contribute to pricing and reimbursement proposals and negotiations, and evaluate market research and competitive benchmarks.
  • Direct customer-facing efforts, manage CRM and territory management systems, conduct ROI evaluations, allocate budgets, and establish realistic, motivating sales targets and incentive systems.
  • Lead and develop staff in accordance with ethical standards and company procedures, actively participating in management meetings and cross-functional project groups.

The Rare Disease team is part of a dynamic organization filled with skilled and ambitious professionals focused on results and dedicated to the ethical values of Novo Nordisk. As the Business Unit Director for Rare Disease, you will report to the General Manager for Switzerland and be an integral part of the affiliate leadership team.

Your Skills & Qualifications

You possess natural leadership capabilities, demonstrating ownership and accountability. As a strong collaborator and communicator, you can effectively engage with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. With an entrepreneurial mindset, you think outside the box. You will bring:

  • At least 5 years of progressive marketing experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a minimum of 3 years in people leadership.
  • A broad and balanced commercial background, encompassing areas like marketing, medical, field sales, new product planning, commercial operations, and market research.
  • Specialized expertise in Rare Disease or specialty care environments as a clear differentiator.
  • A growth and learning mindset with enterprise leadership capabilities, along with a successful track record in leading product launches.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to inspire your team and colleagues through ambitious targets, clear goal setting, and swift decision-making.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in science, healthcare, business, or a relevant field, fluency in Swiss German and English, and ideally French; an advanced degree (e.g., MBA) and additional global commercial experience are preferred.
