W Talent is currently partnered with a leading national property consultancy that is expanding its team in Scotland. We are seeking individuals from Newly Qualified to Associate Director levels to enhance our collaborative working environment and facilitate clear career progression.
The Role
You will manage and deliver a diverse Business Rates caseload, which includes valuation, appeals, and advisory instructions with minimal supervision. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the preparation and submission of Check/Challenge/Appeal (CCA) and Proposal/Appeal cases, including complex and high-value assessments.
- Conducting property inspections, measurements, and analysis across a broad range of commercial property types.
- Analyzing and interpreting rental evidence, cost data, comparative evidence, and valuation tones to support robust rating strategies.
- Serving as a key point of contact for clients, providing clear, commercially focused advice and regular updates.
- Liaising and negotiating with the Valuation Office Agency, Assessors, and Local Authority Rates Teams.
- Supporting senior colleagues on large occupier portfolios and portfolio-wide reviews, contributing to strategic advice and recommendations.
- Assisting in the mentoring and development of junior surveyors by providing technical guidance and support.
- Ensuring high standards of file management, compliance, and quality control.
- Contributing to market research, thought leadership, and internal knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across advisory disciplines to provide integrated client solutions.

What's on Offer?
- Competitive salary ranging from £55,000 to £85,000 plus a package of benefits.
- Performance-related earnings potential of £10,000 to £20,000+ OTE.
- Opportunities for MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) with 18 Months+ PQE experience.
- Knowledge of rating legislation (Local Government Finance Act, etc.), VOA rating lists and methodologies, and relevant case law.
