A leading client within the packaging industry is seeking a Business Development Manager (Packaging Solutions) to drive growth across Germany and Austria. This role combines strategic business development with hands-on execution, focusing on delivering innovative, end-to-end packaging solutions to a diverse customer base. The position offers the opportunity to shape market expansion, build strong client partnerships, and lead projects from concept through to successful implementation.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities, markets, and customer segments.
• Drive revenue growth by expanding existing accounts and acquiring new clients.
• Manage customer projects end-to-end, from initial concept through execution and optimization.
• Deliver integrated packaging solutions in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead commercial discussions, negotiations, and preparation of technical proposals.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as R&D, operations, and marketing.
• Monitor market trends and customer needs to support innovation and product development.
• Represent the organization at customer meetings, industry events, and trade fairs.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in business development or technical sales within the packaging industry.
• Strong track record of driving growth and developing new business opportunities.
• Solid understanding of packaging solutions (e.g. flexible, corrugated, industrial, or filling systems).
• Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
• Hands-on, proactive mindset with a high level of ownership.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Willingness to travel regularly, including occasional trips to Düsseldorf.
