Business Development Manager for CNC Machines in the HM Carbide Inserts Industry
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team, focusing on CNC machines used in the carbide inserts industry. This role will involve engaging with existing and potential customers in Asia and Europe, specializing in projects related to automated powder presses, 5-axis CNC machining centers, and carbide inserts inspection machines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers to promote special machines projects within the carbide inserts industry.
- Regularly visit customers in Asia, particularly in China, as well as select locations in Europe for sales, marketing, and technical training purposes.
- Engage in commercial negotiations with our European machine partner companies to better understand customer needs and develop effective market strategies.
- Conduct prospection for premium used CNC machines, specifically 5 or 6-axis CNC tool and carbide inserts grinding machines from brands such as EWAG, Walter, ANCA, Saccke, Rollomatic, Stähli, Wendt, and Agathon, to help grow this segment of our business.
- Coordinate with partners and colleagues in our China office to provide commercial and technical support for sold projects, including commissioning, spare parts, and potential training and overhaul.
- Stay updated on market trends and industry developments, and facilitate training on machine products at partner companies.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports for the CEO.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical or commercial role (with a technical background) related to new or used CNC power presses and 5-axis CNC machines for cemented carbide and other hard metal cutting tools and inserts.
- A strong understanding of the pressing, HSC machining, and grinding processes, as well as familiarity with various Swiss and German CNC machine brands, such as Osterwalder, Dorst, Mikron, Fehlmann, EWAMATIC Line, Agathon, and Wendt.
- A deep knowledge of the HM carbide inserts production chain.
- Excellent business development skills with a proven ability to build a successful business model.
- A willingness and ability to travel regularly to Asia, especially China, and occasionally within Europe.
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- Fluency in Chinese and English is mandatory; knowledge of at least two local languages (German and French) is a plus.
