Job Title: Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager is key to driving new business and maximizing revenue from Groups and Events. This role emphasizes proactive sales acquisition within the local and regional market while fostering strong client relationships. Close collaboration with the Marriott and RIMC headquarter sales team is essential for securing business for the property.

Main Responsibilities

Proactive Sales Acquisition

  • Identify and target new corporate, agency, group, and association accounts in the local and regional market.
  • Conduct regular sales drives, client visits, calls, and networking activities.
  • Organize and host site inspections, client events, and FAM trips.
  • Leverage Marriott Global Sales Office (GSO), MARSHA systems, and Marriott Bonvoy to convert leads.
  • Actively participate in local business associations, chambers of commerce, and industry trade shows.
  • Systematically map and develop the market, including competitor monitoring.

Account Development

  • Build and grow long-term relationships with existing accounts, maximizing share of wallet.
  • Cross-sell Rooms and Events within existing clients.
  • Negotiate offers and contracts in line with hotel guidelines, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on all leads and inquiries.

Collaboration & Support

  • Work closely with the Events Manager and Reservations team to convert leads into confirmed bookings.
  • Provide support to Event Operations during peak demand periods when needed.
  • Ensure effective communication with operational departments (Rooms, F&B, Banqueting) to deliver seamless guest experiences.
  • Collaborate with Marriott Cluster and RIMC Regional Sales Teams for lead generation and account penetration.

Reporting & KPIs

  • Provide weekly activity reports on sales calls, site inspections, and new leads.
  • Track and achieve agreed revenue and activity targets (e.g. number of new accounts, closed deals, pipeline value).
  • Maintain accurate client and lead information in the CRM system.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends to identify new opportunities.

Required Profile

  • Minimum 2-4 years of hotel sales experience, ideally with a focus on Groups, Events, or Corporate Accounts.
  • Strong hunter mentality with a proven track record in new business acquisition.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills; strong presentation abilities.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: ability to spot opportunities and turn them into revenue.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and proactive, with a results-driven approach.
  • Fluency in English and French is required; German is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Opera PMS, MARSHA, and CRM tools is desirable.
