Business Development Manager for Japan

To strengthen our Sales Department at our head office in Beringen/SH, we are currently seeking a talented individual for the position of Business Development Manager for Japan. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the international growth of BBC Cellpack Electrical Products in the Japanese market for low- and medium-voltage cable accessories. Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing a sales strategy, enhancing our market presence, and ensuring economic success.

Your goal will be to expand our current customer network while adapting the sales strategy to local conditions.

Your Tasks

  • Continuous development of the distributor business, including the identification and exploration of new target markets, as well as the expansion and assessment of existing distribution partners within Japan.
  • Creation of a regional business plan and the definition and implementation of the corresponding sales strategy.
  • Active management of partners through business target agreements.
  • Commercial and technical customer support.
  • Preparation of market and competition analyses.
  • Approval work with energy suppliers.
  • Market observation regarding trends, external influencing factors, and ensuring competitiveness.
  • Ensuring that the necessary internal and external processes and procedures are in place.
  • Responsibility for incoming orders and sales.
  • Oversight of key account management and personal support for important customers and partners.
  • Efficient processing of customer inquiries and offers.
  • Defining market-specific acquisition methods and the selection process for target customers, distributors, and sales partners.
  • Implementation of suitable market development measures.
  • Preparation and participation in trade fairs and customer training sessions.

Your Profile

  • University degree in engineering (e.g., Electrical Engineering) or Business Administration; an MBA is a must.
  • Experience in a comparable role as Business Development Manager for a global company for more than 3 years is essential.
  • Profound knowledge of marketing methods for over 3 years.
  • Technical knowledge in low voltage; knowledge in medium voltage is a plus.
  • Strong strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Fluent in English and Japanese, both written and spoken; additional languages are a plus.
  • Strong intercultural knowledge of Japan and Switzerland, alongside experience working for an international company.
  • Proficient in CRM tools such as Salesforce and ERP systems like SAP.
