About the Role
Swiss Himmel GmbH is seeking an IT Business Data Analyst with extensive expertise in enterprise banking systems, specifically focused on Swiss-specific interface design and integration, along with data management modernization. This role is pivotal in conducting impact assessments for application re-wiring, resolving data-related issues, extracting and analyzing data to support business decisions, and managing legacy system migration to a data lake.
This position offers a unique opportunity for professionals with comprehensive knowledge in core banking and wealth management products, particularly within migration projects involving big data on cloud platforms, automation, and experience with both distributed on-prem Data Lakes and RDBMS.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate business needs into data models and assess existing data models and physical databases for discrepancies.
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders on data quality and system enhancements.
- Test newly sourced data sets against schemas and business requirements.
- Utilize data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
- Leverage strong functional knowledge of financial instruments including Equities, Bonds, Loans, and Derivative products.
- Analyze data related to complex systems, including Data Modeling, Data Governance, and Data Integration, while supporting solutions that migrate data to the Cloud.
- Conduct qualitative data analysis and assist in the mapping specification for Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processes from heterogeneous data stores, as well as building data pipelines.
- Establish strong relationships with business users by acting as the point of contact for requirements capture, stakeholder expectations management, and risk mitigation.
- Lead and manage legacy-to-modern data migrations, lifecycle projects, and cutover activities.
- Mentor and manage onshore/offshore teams, ensuring that business goals align with IT strategies.
Required Skills & Experience
- Expertise in Data Analytics, Data Warehousing, Data Modeling, MIS/BI, and Business Analysis within the financial domain.
- Functional knowledge of Banking and Financial Services, including Capital Markets, Retail & Corporate Banking (such as Lending, Liability products, Payments, Corporate Loans, and Credit Card systems).
- Familiarity with core banking products including Temenos, Midas Plus, Equation, Finacle, or similar applications.
- Proficiency in technical skills such as PL/SQL, Python, Unix/Linux, HP ALM, MS Project, MS Office, Microservices, REST/SOAP APIs.
- Extensive experience in legacy-to-modern data migrations, cutover projects, and lifecycle management.
- Strong capabilities in Business Requirement Analysis and Project Management utilizing Agile/Scrum methodologies, Jira, ServiceNow, and ITIL processes.
- Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining software solutions, particularly Cloud-based and SaaS solutions.
- Good understanding of relational databases (Oracle/Sybase), ETL tools such as Informatica, and BI tools including Tableau and Power BI.
- Experience working with reference and transaction data across a large banking landscape, covering multiple source systems and consumers.
- Solid understanding of financial data classification, sensitivity, and data modeling standards/tools.
