Building Safety Officer (m/w/d)

We are seeking a Building Safety Officer for our esteemed client, a prominent pharmaceutical company located in Basel. This role requires expertise in chemical production, safety, health, and environmental regulations (SHE), as well as experience in large-scale construction projects.

Project Overview

The project involves the refurbishment of a chemical production building. The Building Safety Officer will serve as the interface between project requirements and operational activities, ensuring compliance and safety throughout the construction process.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in managing large-scale construction projects and production facilities within the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. They should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, being open, communicative, and a collaborative team player. Tasks & Responsibilities

• Act as the liaison between the construction site and the operator.
• Support the existing SHE organization.
• Issue work permits to contractors.
• Monitor compliance with relevant safety regulations.
• Participate in coordination and construction meetings.
• Conduct safety inspections as needed.

Must Haves

• Qualifications as a Chemical Technician or Laboratory Technician.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in chemical production.
• Solid understanding of construction site safety and SHE regulations.
• Additional certifications in occupational safety (EKAS or ASGS) are a plus.
• Experience in large project construction sites and chemical/pharmaceutical production facilities.
• GMP experience is essential.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and Google GSuite.
• Fluency in both German and English.
