YOUR PROFILE

As a Boarding Assistant, you will be an integral member of the house team in one of our six boarding houses, providing support to the Housemaster/mistress (HM) and Deputy Housemaster/mistress (DHM). This is a residential role, with accommodation provided either within a boarding house or nearby.

The primary objective of this position is to deliver high-quality care, support, and guidance to students in the boarding house. This role also provides extensive opportunities for engagement in other areas of school life, including assisting students in their lessons and facilitating extracurricular and weekend activities (such as our winter ski program).

This role includes significant training and development opportunities, making it particularly suitable for those interested in pursuing a career in education or related fields working with children and teenagers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the HM and DHM to ensure the smooth operation of the house, providing the best possible care and experience for students.
  • Build relationships with students, offering support tailored to their individual needs.
  • Be a proactive, dynamic, and positive presence in the boarding house throughout the day and evening.
  • Assist with house administration as required.
  • Engage extensively in the weekend program.
  • Support 6-8 lessons per week, aiding in student learning.
  • Assist with two activities or sports teams during the academic year.
  • Provide overnight supervision in the Boarding House.
  • Support operations at La Sionnaire during the winter season (chalet on the ski slopes).
  • Oversee study sessions.
  • Collaborate with the Health Centre team to provide support and accompany students to medical appointments.
  • Carry out reception duties as necessary.
  • Facilitate airport transfers for students.
  • Participate in weekly Training and Support Meetings.
  • Fulfill any additional duties assigned by the School as required.

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Qualified to degree level.
  • Native English speaker or possess a high level of English comprehension; good French skills are beneficial but not essential.
  • Proficient IT skills.

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working with young people in residential settings is an asset but not a requirement.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • A 10-month fixed contract, from September 2025 to June 2026.
