Join Our Innovative Team as a Biospecimen Specialist

Keep the heartbeat of innovation running! Our client is looking for a dedicated Biospecimen Specialist to join a dynamic team focused on biospecimen acquisition and management. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the Employee Specimen Donation Program (ESDP), manage biorepository activities, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

This position requires a detail-oriented, self-motivated individual who can work autonomously while effectively collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders. Please note that candidates must have the right to work in this location or hold an EU passport to be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the Employee Specimen Donation Program, including designing promotional campaigns to drive engagement.
  • Manage biorepository activities such as processing biological materials, registration, shipment, inventory searches, and sample kit creation.
  • Oversee end-to-end project management to fulfill customer specimen requests.
  • Collaborate with permitting agencies and compliance teams to meet import/export and safety requirements.
  • Conduct data management tasks, including data review, quality checks, discrepancy resolution, and database entry in validated systems.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of sample collection and study information in accordance with established procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards, including informed consent and data privacy regulations.
  • Interface with diverse stakeholders to establish timelines and achieve project goals.

Key Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences or equivalent experience in sample acquisition, biobanking, or related fields.
  • Hands-on experience handling biological specimens, with a willingness to work with potentially infectious materials.
  • Knowledge of ethics and compliance, including informed consent, IRB protocols, and data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and validated systems like LIMS.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to high-quality deliverables.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 10-15 kg.
  • English proficiency (minimum B2 level).
  • Experience in research, diagnostics, pharmaceutical, CRO, or medical device industries is advantageous.
  • German language skills are a plus.
