Job Opportunity: Biospecimen Associate (m/f/d)

The world leader in in-vitro diagnostics, Roche Diagnostics, located in Rotkreuz (ZG), is seeking a motivated team player to join our Biospecimen Acquisition & Management (BAM) team. This team is instrumental in the acquisition and management of biological materials and clinical samples, along with their associated data, to enhance and support local R&D activities.

BAM collaborates with various Life Cycle Teams, Projects, and Functional Areas to ensure that customer requirements for biological materials are met through formal processes, communicated periodically, and fulfilled in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices, Good Clinical Data Management Practices, Quality, and Business standards.

The Biospecimen Associate will manage the full spectrum of biorepository activities, ensuring that our customers' specimen requests within Roche Diagnostic Solutions (RDS) are effectively fulfilled. This role will be based at the RDI campus in Rotkreuz, Switzerland.

Your Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Manage and perform supply, receipt, registration, shipment, returns, verification activities, retrievals, and inventory searches in a validated environment to meet stakeholder and business needs.
  • Collaborate with relevant permitting agencies, import/export compliance, and local Safety and Biorepository Teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain information in a validated Laboratory Information Management System compliant with GxP principles and standards.
  • Assume responsibility for the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of work within supported projects while responding to changing priorities.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Science.
  • Experience in handling biological specimens and willingness to work with potentially infectious biological material (Biosafety level 2).
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Google Suite.
  • Fluent in English (German is a plus).
  • Able to lift 30lbs, work in cold environments with limited daylight, stand for long periods, and climb ladders.
  • Self-motivated and solution-driven, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timeliness of deliverables.
  • Strong understanding of biospecimen traceability and adherence to standard procedures.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, effectively managing multiple projects.
  • Good organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and stakeholder management abilities.
  • A detail-oriented team player, self-organized, and motivated.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in biospecimen acquisition, biobanking, clinical trial management, interfacing with stakeholders, or project management.
  • Background in research, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, CRO, or the medical device industry.
  • Experience with LIMS or other validated systems.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements related to diagnostics.
  • Fluency in German.
