Join Illumove as a Biosensor Design Engineer, where you will play a key role in designing and developing innovative biosensor concepts that support our mission of enhancing health monitoring through cutting-edge technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Innovation: Drive the development of Illumove's integrated sensing platform, focusing on its progression towards industrialization.
  • Surface Functionalization & Assay Development: Develop and optimize surface functionalization protocols and biosensing assays tailored for health biomarker monitoring.
  • Proof-of-Concept & Validation Studies: Design and execute experimental studies to demonstrate biosensor capabilities in relevant biological environments.
  • Prototype Advancement: Refine and mature sensor prototypes, collaborating with industrial and academic partners to accelerate development.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Interface with prospective customers in target markets such as wearable devices and health monitoring solutions to gather feedback and promote our technologies.
  • Technology Research: Explore and evaluate cutting-edge transducer technologies for biosensing applications.
  • Innovation Development: Design novel biosensors utilizing biofunctionalized structures for optical and electrochemical monitoring.
  • Project Management: Manage innovation projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines.

Your Profile

  • Innovative Mindset: Curious, creative, and capable of thinking across disciplines.
  • Academic Qualifications: PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field, with at least 3 years of research experience in academia or industry.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Hands-on experience with biofunctionalization of 1D and 2D carbon-based nanomaterials (e.g., antibodies and DNA grafting, enzyme immobilization).
    • Strong knowledge of optical and electrical biosensing, including optical spectroscopy and imaging, and electrochemistry.
    • Demonstrated expertise in sensor technology for health monitoring applications.
    • Familiarity with integrated circuits and microfluidic systems.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Python, MATLAB, or equivalent.
  • Project Leadership: Practical experience with project management principles and methodologies.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional English communication skills, with a proven ability to publish scientific articles.
