Position: Bioprocess Engineer Large Scale Mammalian USP
Due to growth at our site in Visp, we are currently seeking a Bioprocess Engineer with expertise in large-scale mammalian upstream processing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and document manufacturing campaigns in the area of mammalian cell culture and purification.
- Lead multi-disciplinary project teams as the Functional Lead for all manufacturing aspects of assigned products.
- Prepare and execute SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) and EM (Environmental Monitoring) risk analyses for assigned products, along with control measures implementation.
- Establish high-quality production documentation specific to the assigned production area in a timely manner.
- Implement state-of-the-art regulatory requirements for corresponding assets and products.
- Perform manufacturing activities in accordance with cGMP guidelines, ensuring effective batch execution, evaluating test results, and resolving issues.
- Act as a production expert in capital investment projects for the establishment and commissioning of manufacturing units.
- Implement relevant GMP documents for the respective area.
- Train biotechnologists (operators) in the manufacturing processes for assigned products.
- Represent Lonza during customer audits and visits.
- Execute innovation and improvement projects related to general manufacturing aspects of the production plant.
- Ensure a high level of technical and process standardization within the production plant.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related disciplines.
- Broad biotechnology expertise and/or knowledge in biotechnical engineering, preferably in mammalian cell culture and/or protein purification.
- Fluent in German and English, with a basic understanding of GMP principles.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across various organizational interfaces.
- Team-oriented approach with a structured and well-organized working attitude.
- Open-mindedness to new ideas and a highly motivated, solutions-oriented mindset.
