Teacher of Biology
100% – Starting August 2026 – 1 Year Contract
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective teaching and learning of biology throughout the secondary school.
- Contribute to the design, development, implementation, and review of lower secondary/IGCSE/DP Biology programmes.
- Liaise with curriculum leaders to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum, including resource selection and management in the classroom.
- Promote the health and safety of assigned classes.
- Participate in professional development and contribute to regular staff training and meetings.
- Support a programme of trips, excursions, field trips, and extracurricular activities.
- Enhance the professional standing of the teaching body.
- Foster positive relationships between science and the wider community through cooperative initiatives, publications, and competitions.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Biology and/or Qualified Teacher Status.
- The ability to teach two sciences at IGCSE and/or DP level is an advantage.
- A proven track record of excellence in teaching, with at least three years of experience, ideally in an international environment.
- Knowledge and proven experience of teaching Biology at IB Diploma and IGCSE levels.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team player.
- Ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload.
- Ability to inspire students from mixed cultural backgrounds by creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all.
- Support for students' learning and pastoral needs.
