Position: Teacher of Biology (Maternity Replacement)
Employment Type: 100% – starting August 2026 – 1-year contract
Responsibilities:
- Deliver effective teaching and learning of biology throughout the secondary school.
- Participate in the design, development, implementation, and review of lower secondary/IGCSE/DP Biology programmes.
- Liaise with curriculum leaders to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum, including selecting resources and managing them efficiently in the classroom.
- Promote the health and safety of assigned classes.
- Engage in professional development and contribute to regular staff training and meetings.
- Contribute to a programme of trips, excursions, field trips, and extracurricular activities.
- Enhance the professional standing of the teaching body.
- Foster a positive relationship between Science and the wider community through cooperative relations, publications, competitions, etc.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Biology and/or Qualified Teacher Status.
- The ability to teach two sciences at IGCSE and/or DP level would be advantageous.
- Proven track record of excellence in teaching, with a minimum of three years’ experience, ideally in an international environment.
- Knowledge and experience in teaching Biology at IB Diploma and IGCSE level.
- Excellent communication skills and a team player.
- Ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload.
- Aptitude for inspiring a mixed culture and ability classes by creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students.
- Capacity to support student needs in learning and pastoral matters.
