Teacher of Biology (Maternity Replacement)
100% – Starting August 2026 – 1 Year Contract
Responsibilities:
- Deliver effective biology instruction throughout the secondary school.
- Engage in the design, development, implementation, and review of lower secondary/IGCSE/DP Biology programmes.
- Collaborate with curriculum leaders to ensure effective curriculum delivery, including resource selection and classroom management.
- Promote health and safety within assigned classes.
- Participate in professional development and contribute to regular staff training and meetings.
- Contribute to programs involving trips, excursions, field trips, and extracurricular activities.
- Enhance the professional reputation of the teaching staff.
- Foster positive relationships between the Science Department and the wider community through cooperation, publications, competitions, and other initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Biology and/or Qualified Teacher Status.
- Ability to teach two sciences at IGCSE and/or DP level is an advantage.
- Proven track record of teaching excellence with a minimum of three years’ experience, preferably in an international environment.
- Knowledge and experience of teaching Biology at IB Diploma and IGCSE levels.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Capacity to manage a diverse and demanding workload.
- Able to inspire a diverse classroom by creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students.
- Ability to support students in both academic and pastoral matters.
