The position is located at the Institute of Food, Nutrition, and Health at ETH Zurich, within the Laboratory of Food Systems Biotechnology, led by Prof. Dr. Nicholas Bokulich. The Bokulich laboratory specializes in developing bioinformatics methods and software for microbiome research, including QIIME 2, and utilizes these tools to investigate microbiomes at the intersections of food and human health.
The successful applicant will focus on developing bioinformatics software for the analysis and integration of microbiome and other omics datasets, aiming to enhance our understanding of microbial communities relevant to food and human health. Candidates should be proficient in Python programming tailored to bioinformatics software development and demonstrate experience in collaborative development on GitHub. The role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers to create and apply open-source software across diverse research topics.
