Bioinformatics Scientist / Bioinformatics Scientistess

ETH Zurich - March 6, 2026

Bioinformatics Scientist / Data Scientist

100%, Zurich, fixed-term

The Musculoskeletal Bioengineering Laboratory, led by Prof. Dr. Tristan März, is an interdisciplinary research group dedicated to understanding the pathophysiology of arthritis. Our work combines in vitro models with diverse cell types and in vivo models of joint injury and inflammatory arthritis to uncover inflammation and fibrosis-related mechanisms that contribute to joint disease. Our ultimate goal is to identify and target novel molecular mechanisms that underlie inflammation and tissue degeneration, paving the way for innovative disease-modifying therapies.

Project Background

We are seeking a highly motivated Bioinformatics Scientist / Data Scientist to engage in multi-omics data analysis. This individual will play a pivotal role in analyzing high-dimensional biological datasets, developing and maintaining bioinformatics pipelines, and collaborating closely with experimental scientists to translate computational findings into biological insights. This position is ideal for candidates ranging from M.S.-level scientists with relevant experience to early- to mid-career Ph.D.-trained researchers seeking an independent and impactful role in an academic research environment.
