The Laboratory of Regenerative and Muscle Biology at ETH Zurich, in collaboration with the Functional Genomics Center Zurich (FGCZ), invites applications for the position of a Bioinformatician to work on omics data.
The Laboratory of Regenerative and Muscle Biology (RMB), led by Prof. Ori Bar-Nur, is a multidisciplinary team dedicated to translating basic research findings into therapeutically applicable treatments. Operating at the intersection of molecular and cellular biology, gene- and cell-based therapies, and tissue engineering, the lab employs multiomics tools to advance our understanding of biological processes.
The FGCZ serves as a core facility jointly operated by ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich, utilizing the latest omics technologies for biomolecular research and personalized medicine. The Genome Informatics group at FGCZ supports researchers in the analysis and interpretation of large-scale datasets, specifically focusing on next-generation sequencing (NGS) data. The team excels in raw data processing, high-performance computing, statistical evaluation, interpretation, and integrated analysis, utilizing a robust open-source software environment to develop state-of-the-art data analysis concepts and algorithms.
The Bioinformatician will play a critical role in various basic and translational research projects within the RMB lab. This position involves collaboration within an international research team and requires a high level of motivation, scientific curiosity, and a collaborative mindset. As a member of the FGCZ Genome Informatics group, the candidate will provide bioinformatics services to support ongoing projects, performing data analyses using the existing infrastructure and developing additional analysis workflows. A key focus will be on single-cell and spatial transcriptomics applications, and experience in these areas is highly desirable.
The RMB Lab is situated in the SLA building on the Schwerzenbach Campus of ETH Zurich, a prestigious institution known for excellence in research. We offer a state-of-the-art work environment, well-equipped facilities, expert staff, supportive colleagues, and opportunities for innovative projects. We provide a competitive salary and benefits package, with funding and employment terms aligned with ETH Zurich regulations.
