MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The successful applicant will encourage and support students in enjoying and maximizing the learning opportunities offered by the school, specifically focusing on teaching Sciences to Middle School Secondaire students. This role may also include the possibility of becoming a homeroom advisor.

The position will be available from 13th August 2026 on a full-time basis.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote the school’s mission and vision by helping both day and boarding students discover and develop their individual strengths, while fostering powerful, lifelong global connections.
  • Contribute to a caring and inclusive learning environment where students can flourish, prioritizing each student's health and well-being.
  • Embody and promote Collège du Léman’s RISE values: Respect, Internationalism, Spirit, and Excellence.
  • Engage and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure lesson harmonization across the grade level.
  • Assess students according to school guidelines and enter grades into the online grade book.
  • Prepare school reports according to guidelines and adhere to completion timelines.
  • Utilize and enhance existing resources to teach Science classes in Middle School Secondaire.
  • Possibility of teaching Chemistry in High School.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Qualifications

A relevant Science qualification along with a teaching qualification is required, with a Master’s degree in a suitable area of pedagogy being preferred.

Experience

Successful experience teaching in a Middle School setting, particularly to students whose first language may not be English, is essential. The ability to address the needs of students with diagnosed learning differences in the classroom is also required. Experience as a homeroom advisor is advantageous.

Prior Experience

English must be your mother tongue. You should possess the ability to effectively use and integrate educational technology to enhance learning. Strong relational skills to foster a positive, firm yet empathetic relationship with students are crucial. Good organizational skills are necessary, along with effective verbal and written communication abilities.

Additional Skills

The ideal candidate will excel in teamwork, meet tight deadlines, and implement effective classroom and differentiation strategies.

It is essential that the post holder is always aware of Child Protection guidelines and maintains a professional distance from students, while also developing effective working and caring relationships.
