MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The successful applicant will play a vital role in encouraging and supporting students to fully engage with and benefit from the learning opportunities provided by the school. Specifically, the role will involve teaching Sciences to Middle School Secondaire students, with the potential to serve as a homeroom advisor.

This position will be available from 13th August 2026 on a full-time basis.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Promote the school’s mission and vision by assisting students, both day and boarding, in discovering and developing their individual strengths, forging meaningful global connections, and realizing their best potential.
• Contribute to creating a caring and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive, ensuring their health and well-being are prioritized.
• Embody and promote Collège du Léman’s RISE values of Respect, Internationalism, Spirit, and Excellence.
• Engage and motivate students of varying abilities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure lesson harmonization across the grade level.
• Assess students according to school guidelines and record grades in the online grade book.
• Write school reports following established guidelines and adhere to completion timelines.
• Utilize and develop existing resources to teach Science classes in Middle School Secondaire, with the additional possibility of teaching Chemistry in High School.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Qualification

Candidates must possess a relevant Science qualification along with a teaching qualification. A Master’s degree in a suitable area of pedagogy is preferred.

Experience

Successful teaching experience in a Middle School environment, particularly with students whose first language may not be English, is essential. A background in international school settings is ideal, along with the ability to address the needs of students with diagnosed learning differences. Experience as a homeroom advisor is an asset.

Prior Experience

English should be your native language. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in using educational technology to enhance learning within the curriculum. Building positive relationships with students is crucial— a firm yet empathetic and fair approach is key. Strong organizational skills are also important.

Effective verbal and written communication skills are a must.

Additional Skills

The ideal candidate will excel in teamwork, meet tight deadlines, and implement effective classroom and differentiation strategies.
