Job Opportunity

Automotive Logistics Coordinator - 80 to 100%

As part of the ongoing development of our Operations department, we are seeking a dedicated Automotive Logistics Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring the complete logistics flow of our vehicles, from the factory in China to final delivery to our dealer partners in Switzerland. You will be the central operational interface among manufacturers, freight forwarders, shipping companies, ports, transport providers, internal teams, and our Swiss dealer network.

Your Responsibilities

International Vehicle Logistics

  • Coordinate vehicle logistics from our manufacturers in China to export ports.
  • Organize and monitor sea freight from China to Europe.
  • Monitor vessels, shipments, Estimated Time of Departures (ETDs), Estimated Time of Arrivals (ETAs), and vehicle arrivals.
  • Oversee vehicle reception and operations at European ports.
  • Manage port operations, treatments, storage, and vehicle releases.
  • Organize onward transportation from Europe to Switzerland.
  • Facilitate final vehicle deliveries from Switzerland to our dealer partners.
  • Ensure smooth coordination between all parties involved throughout the logistics chain.

Vehicle Tracking & Operations

  • Monitor the status and location of all vehicles throughout the logistics process.
  • Maintain our internal vehicle tracking platform, ensuring information is continuously and accurately updated.
  • Track VINs, current locations, logistics statuses, ETDs, ETAs, completed milestones, and next steps.
  • Ensure that Sales, Operations, and Management have access to reliable and up-to-date vehicle information.
  • Proactively identify delays, inconsistencies, or potential bottlenecks and take necessary actions.
  • Follow up with logistics providers and stakeholders until issues are resolved.
  • Prioritize according to vehicle availability, customer orders, and dealer requirements.

Documentation & Coordination

  • Collect, verify, and centralize logistics and transport documentation.
  • Coordinate required documents with manufacturers, freight forwarders, ports, and logistics providers.
  • Ensure vehicles and their documentation progress smoothly through each stage of the logistics chain.
  • Maintain clear and structured documentation for each shipment and vehicle.
  • Communicate proactively with internal teams regarding delays, changes, and logistics developments.

Processes & Digitalization

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our vehicle logistics processes.
  • Help develop and optimize our internal logistics and vehicle tracking platform.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive logistics and reporting tasks.
  • Enhance the quality, reliability, and accessibility of logistics data.
  • Monitor logistics lead times, costs, and supplier performance.
  • Support the development of a scalable logistics organization to facilitate AM Group's growth.

Your Profile

We are looking for a structured, reliable, and proactive individual who enjoys coordinating complex operations and taking ownership of processes from start to finish.

Education & Experience

  • Education or professional experience in logistics, supply chain, international transportation, import/export, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in international logistics, maritime transport, or freight forwarding is advantageous.
  • Experience in the automotive industry, preferably with an importer, manufacturer, or logistics provider, is a strong asset.
  • Experience coordinating multiple international suppliers and logistics partners is appreciated.

Skills

  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple vehicles, shipments, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Very good command of English, both written and spoken, essential for communication with manufacturers and partners.
  • French and/or German are valuable assets for communication within Switzerland.
  • Proficient IT skills and a strong affinity for digital tools.
  • Confident in using Excel and logistics management platforms.
  • Comfortable using AI tools and interested in integrating automation into operational processes.
  • Able to structure, analyze, and maintain large amounts of operational data accurately.
